For more than one and a half years, young students of the French university Sciences Po and the Free University Berlin have grappled with young Europeans’ attitudes towards the community of states. About 2,000 young people of the same age were surveyed in Germany and France. Their findings come with a solemn warning.

A platform for Europe

In June 2012, TerraEuropa was founded as a non-profit limited company by Michel Marlière. TerraEuropa aims to strengthen the idea of Europe and to promote a more intensive debate concerning Europe. It provides a platform for young people to exchange their ideas of Europe with each other and with representatives from politics, the economy and society. In this role, the project also sees itself as a platform for the intercommunication between countries and generations.

Findings

TerraEuropa works with young people from Germany and France in order to understand the perception that the young generation has and to identify the driving elements for revitalization of the European project. Apart from the EuroPaper, written by students of Sciences Po and the Free University Berlin, you can find the findings of the Ipsos Survey as well as of the focus groups on this page.

Based on the findings of the multi-tiered TerraEuropa process, it can be concluded that students from Germany and France, by means of the EuroPaper, wish to set a course for their generation within Europe.
